HW is proud to be a Recognised Service Provider of the Real Living Wage (RLW). HW pays 65% of their employees at this level or higher, marking an increase from 62% the previous year.

Paying fair wages means we go beyond the government minimum wage to ensure our employees earn a wage that truly reflects the cost of living. It’s a commitment we’re proud of because we believe everyone deserves fair compensation for their hard work; one that supports not only daily expenses but also a fulfilling, sustainable lifestyle.

By paying a fair and realistic wage, we can retain our staff, which leads to stronger bonds with our clients, and within our own teams. Being a Living Wage Employer means more than just numbers on a wage slip. It’s about respect, dignity, and recognising the value each person brings to our company.

When people feel secure and valued, they thrive – and so do we. By investing in our team, we’re not just boosting morale and productivity; we’re also helping to build a stronger local economy and a more equitable society.

We believe everyone deserves a wage that reflects living costs. As the cost of living rises, it’s important that wages keep up. By paying fairly, wherever possible, we support our team, maintaining high morale and productivity.

The National Living Wage is the legal minimum for over 23s. The RLW is a voluntary rate paid by employers who choose to go above and beyond the government minimum to ensure their staff are always paid a wage that covers the cost of living.

The RLW rate is the only UK wage based on the cost of living. It is voluntarily paid by over 15,000 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets every day needs – like the weekly shop, or a surprise trip to the dentist.

The RLW rates are higher because they are independently calculated, based on what people need to get by. That’s why the RLW encourage all employers who can afford to, to ensure their employees earn a wage that meets the costs of living, not just the government minimum.

This wage rate is based solely on what people need to live.
