This week we have been conducting a BICSc Audit, with our trained assessors, and putting one of the managers through his paces!
What is BICSc?
BICSc is the largest independent, professional and educational body within the cleaning industry, with over 66,000 Individual and Corporate members.
Raising Standards Through Licenses to Practice
The HW assessing team have brought 106 members of the team up to Licence to Practice standard in the last 12 months. They are continuing to train and assess our staff to ensure that as many people as possible meet the BICSc defined standards, and provide a consistent high-quality service to our clients.
Expanding Expertise with Skilled Assessors
HW currently have three fully trained assessors, with ongoing plans to increase this number.
There are over 40 different skills units for BICSc, ranging from basic (mopping, cleaning glass, dusting surfaces) through more specific (machine scrubbing and drying, spray cleaning hard floors) to specialist and sector specific units (Bio-hazard decontamination cleaning, chewing gum removal, healthcare skills).
The Impact of Standardised Training
The formal codification of skills allows service providers to ensure that they are giving their clients a consistently high standard across the whole team. A regular delivery program allows all staff to receive the same level of training, with updates as required.
Celebrating Success: BICSc Award Winner Louise Johnson
As an added bonus, we WON at this year’s BICSc Awards! Louise Johnson was the Cleaning Operative of the year. This is a hugely prestigious award, and we are so proud that Louise’s hard work, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile were recognised. Her win meant that she was recognised across an international field of candidates!
