Charities and Community

Our local community is very important to us and we actively support the invaluable work of Dorothy House Hospice Care. Every life is precious, and Dorothy House are there for anyone in the community facing a life-limiting illness, creating individual care journeys which start at diagnosis and continue with bereavement support for family, carers and children.

This is such a worthwhile charity and one that is close to the hearts of many of our staff at HW. In addition to our own fundraising events, we also support exciting events in the Dorothy House fundraising calendar. At the start of 2026, HW staff supported the annual Christmas tree collection, which not only raised record-breaking funds for the hospice, but also reflects our commitment to sustainability. 

Surfers Against Sewage is a grassroots environmental charity that campaigns for a clean and healthy and protected ocean. They fight sewage, plastic pollution, ocean recovery and climate change.

We are passionate about protecting our planet for future generations. We’ve all seen the media coverage of the awful plastic pollution that is affecting our oceans and its marine life, so we were keen to get involved and support this charity.

Our involvement in this charity enables us to build community spirit and teamwork, whilst enjoying the outdoors and helping nature when taking part in Beach Cleans, Canal Path Cleans and Park Cleans to raise vital funds. A number of our clients have joined us in supporting these events and they have become an important part of our annual fundraising calendar.
